The Uberti 1860 revolvers are very well made and assemblied. Metal to wood fit is almost perfect with the lockup and mechanical fit of the pistol well timed. All the famous “Colt-clicks” were on time and positive. Ubertis have continued to progress in terms of quality and these represent that well. A must have for the sportsman that wants that cap & ball experince.

These 1860 Uberti revolvers do not reliably ignite the caps. As shipped they are worthless as a weapon and frustrating as a range toy. You can find information online about the issue of unreliable ignition including various fixes or workarounds and ways to make them a little more dependable. I would never have done these searches had it actually worked as well as my other cap and ball revolvers. They do have a 5 year warranty, perhaps shipping it back to Uberti would provide a reliable product but it’s easier to just avoid it if you’re in the market.
