The Good: Most of the gun is great. Fit and finish is fantastic. There is virtually no gap between barrel and cylinder so there is almost no blowback at all. Nipple holes are perfect with zero failure to fire issues using remington #10 caps. Shoots extremely accurately and chronos at ~940fps average with a 30 (volumetric) grain load of Pyrodex P.
And now the bad: The loading lever was defective. The metal connector holding the loading lever and plunger together are poorly fitted and snapped due to metal fatigue after loading the gun 6 times. I contacted customer support via email first and got a copy&paste response indicating they did not even read my request to just replace the loading lever. It is also highly accurate — just today I managed a 1.5″ group, center to center, at 25 yds., two-hand grip, with this Remington replica, using my standard load of Hodgdon Triple 7 FFF and .454 diameter Hornady swaged lead balls. I did have some ignition problems initially — apparently fixed now by use of Remington No. 10 caps and SlixShot nipples. The gun, out of the box, would often need a second strike to fir…
