Most of this kit went together as expected. Unfortunately…’most’ is not quite good enough IF the problems encountered are impossible to correct. In this kit, the holes tapped in the bottom flat of the octagonal barrel were not ‘true’; they were drilled and tapped at a pretty significant angle. Therefore, the brass muzzle cap at the pistol forend,(that screws to the bottom of the barrel using these two threaded holes), does not fit properly. It is cast to hug the bottom three flats of the barrel…but since it is cocked sideways as a result of the improperly tapped screw holes…it fits very poorly. ( the holes were also drilled too far back in the barrel…which required SIGNIFICANT shortening of the muzzle cap).
Fitting parts together is one thing. Fitting improperly machined parts together is no fun.

This is not a lego kit. I’m dumbfounded by the other reviews that seem to be spoiled by ar15 build kits. This may be too much for some people.
There was a good deal of wood work to do. It can be done quickly with a drill press and an end bit or even a hand drill a vice and an end bit. Or- You could grow a pair and use a pocket knife.
It’s simple enough and I had it built in just a few hours. Go slow- dry fit a lot.
If you are buying this because you want a black powder- go spend a few bucks more and buy a complete one. If you’re buying this for the project- it’s well worth it.
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend, but my friends don’t tend to be lazy.
