The gun is certainly fun to shoot and that’s important as I had to go thru over 25 shots and several different load combinations out of the box before finally getting it sighted in to my satisfaction. But honestly even now I’m not 100% confident when I shoulder it..

This is my first flintlock and actually learned about their history and workings before I ordering. Very nice quality and fit except hammer and frizzen offset a bit resulting in having to put the flint extremely right in the jaw. Holes already drilled for scope mounts, although you need very HIGH or offset rings as the hammer and frizzen interfere with standard high mounts. Super accurate to 100 yds with Power Belt and Lee REAL bullets at normal 100gr loadings, and round balls accurate with 50gr loads. Did not try sabots but I’m sure they’ll work fine. Ignites well with black powder, but Triple 7 loose and pellets definitely need the touchhole primed as per Traditions instructions, or there is a noticable lag. Sure teaches you how NOT to flinch though. Cleanup is a breeze as it had a removable breech plug made of stainless and through the barrel cleaning is great.
