I bought this elsewhere; sorry, Midway, but someone else had it sooner. Mine’s a .45 in Veil. I was surprised how good the camo is for the SE US. I’ve been able to take mine to the range, but only shoot at 50 yds. At that distance, it shoots one ragged hole that just gets a little bigger until is doesn’t anymore, after about the 5th shot. I’m shooting Hornady 200 gr SST’s in Harvester Crush Rib .40/.45’s with a mid-range charge by volume of Blackhorn 209 and full-bore Win 209 primers. The sabot/bullet combo loads surprisingly easy, about like powerbelts, except for the last 3/4.” They still “click” into place when seated. I was concerned they wouldn’t be accurate because they loaded so easily, and I still have concerns beyond 150 yds. But for hunting in typical N FL woods, this combo will be fine, especially if I need a follow-up shot. The collapsible ramrod is different. I was concerned about that, but I think I’ve figured it out. I fold it as I withdraw it from the muzzle, and put it back in the pouch on…

Bought this muzzleloader because I read great reviews about it. Received it in the mail and found lots of issues with quality control. It looks like the sight was damaged and like the forend free float molding was done very poorly among other issues. The box looked like it had been shipped somewhere else or tossed around the shop. Came with a QC card from Midway. Contacted their customer service and was told to discuss with CVA. Waiting for a response from CVA. At this point wishing I just grabbed one off of the rack at a brick and mortar. Looks like lots of good reviews and I’m hoping it will shoot alright, maybe I just got a bad egg. Hopefully it’ll be sorted by the start of season. Be careful, apparently Midway doesn’t stand behind their quality control.
