I recently installed this in a x-bolt eclipse hunter. Being timney is a well respected name I was quite disappointed with the installation. I spent a half hour with a dremel to grind the front of the trigger mount down. The front mount is way to tight to slide over the action. Now my trigger mount has no blueing where it seats to the action. Once installed to the action it trigger works great except fitting the safety bar to the stock. Safety will not slide back and forth. Another hour and a half with the dremel. Grind… check the safety…. grind…. check the fit. Grind…. check the safety. Complete shitshow for a respected trigger company. Overall the trigger feels great and is a vast improvement over stock. I just was not expecting to grind away at a brand new rifle.

Yes you will have to remove some material on wood stocks. Took me about 10 minutes. Preset at 3 pounds pull out of the box. Adjusted to 2.5 pounds, tweaked the sear engagement, done. 45 minutes total time. Turned a three inch shooter into a one inch shooter. The factory trigger on an X-Bolt is terrible, 4 to 4.5 pounds pull, (as low as I could get it) creep cannot be adjusted. However I bought the rifle used for a song cuz the owner said it would not group well. Made up some reloads, installed the Timney trigger and presto I’ve got a decent shooter. Previous owner is a little mad. This trigger is worth the money if it cost twice as much. You won’t be sorry.
