Okay, the instructions are a little abbreviated, so I needed to look at online pictures to, say, properly attach the fold-down piece at the front. However, as I was sitting on the couch, thinking about maybe a project tomorrow to put it all together, I just started assembling this part, then that, and I think that I went so far as to grab a small screwdriver, and then a small hammer to tap with. Things just kept moving, while I was watching television, and before I knew it, all the pieces were together. I suppose I was supposed to use a small drill at some point, but it wasn’t needed at all.
Now, the rope is seriously an ornamental thing. They expect you to just tuck it into some holes that they drilled in the carriage and, of all things, to use it to hold the elevation block. I did add a string to hold the elevation block in place, because otherwise that falls off very easily. However, the main rope is intended to wrap around the knob of the cannon, and to be secured forward of the cannon to stakes in …
