This is almost a great product however the forward assist is almost 1.5 inches out of place causing this upper to have a non functioning forward assist on some carriers and limited function on mil-spec carriers. The forward assist housing and shell deflector are also a separate part from the receiver itself and are pinned into place with the potential to come loose over time. Vltor also states the following about removing the forward assist housing in order to change out dust cover or its parts: Due to our Lifetime Warranty, we advise that you not remove or attempt to remove your forward assist. Our Lifetime Warranty covers all of our products as long as they are not modified in any way (i.e. disassembly, Cerakote, painted, Durakote, etc.). We do offer a service in house that will maintain your Lifetime Warranty. Please contact us to arrange this service. At what price I wonder? Back to the drawing boards for this product. Definitely a quality built receiver, more modern up to date look. My only con is that the black anodizing for this receiver has a blue hue to it. paired with most lowers you will notice the color difference. (see image) Apparently this applies to all Voltr Receivers, and maybe worse on others. I still kept it and would still recommended.
