I purchased this trigger to upgrade the factory trigger in my Tikka Tac A1, and it’s a significant improvement.
The factory Tikka 2-stage trigger is fantastic. I’ve used the factory trigger w/ the Yo-Dave trigger spring for 3 years and had it dialed right at 2lbs. There was still something left to be desired, especially after having tried a few other higher end triggers from friends’ rifles.
The Timney T3 trigger is a definite improvement over the factory. The first stage and take up is extremely smooth and finding the wall is consistent and perfect. This is where I think the biggest difference lies. The Trigger shoe is comfortable and has a smooth finish. The break of the 2nd stage is clean and crisp as one would expect.
My only gripe is with the safety. I noticed the safety is extremely close to the bolt shroud and at first would contact the shroud when I would cycle the bolt while the safety was in the safe position. NOTE: Yes, you can cycle the bolt with the safety on with this trigger.
