I purchased this barrel after calling Midway Customer Service to confirm the condition of this part (they didn’t bother to specify whether new or used). I was told it was a brand new factory supplied part u-blemished. I received it and the condition is not as promised. The barrel shipped wrapped in only white paper and dry. It was not in the brown wax paper with cosmoline on it typically done at the factory. Because of this the finish was a powdering rust brown and un-salvageable. But that’s not all it gets better….upon bore inspection there was a solid obstruction in the barrel. Both ends silver in color so I figured it was a lead slug. I soaked it with oil and drove it out with a brass rod. The obstruction was actually a 1/4″ long piece of round white stone jagged at both ends and the silver color was from metal deposits pounded in to them from where a previous attempt to hammer out was done.
