I have used this sight when a reserve officer, and it is 500% better than the Remington 870 rifle sight, or any kind of bead. It is unexcelled for picking up targets in low light, and both of my personal Remington 870s have barrels set up with these sights, extra full Rem Chokes, and Surefire entry lights. The best part is that I can switch back to my conventional barrels and use the same shotgun for duck or pheasant. I use the rear sight when bird hunting, and my performance has improved in that area as well. Some of my hunting partners look a little askance when the see a bird gun with synthetic butt and forearm, but I tell them it is to resist damage to gloss stocks, and protection for humidity. I would not switch back, as it is all a win-win situation. Good shooting
