I have a previous version of this rifle, the Savage 10 Predator Hunter, in .223 Rem. which was manufactured in 2015. It is well built, precise, accurate, and fun to shoot. Shoots sub-MOA all day long with hand loads. It really likes the Sierra 69 gr. MatchKings and shoots the inexpensive Hornady 55 gr. FMJs almost as well.
The current version of the rifle looks even better since it has a threaded barrel, adjustable length of pull, and adjustable comb height.
Finally, Savage’s customer service is superb. Had an issue with light primer strikes which was causing the gun to misfire. Called Savage and they sent a new firing pin assembly at no charge. Later discovered the firing pin and spring were fine. The issue was caused by my error (seating primers too deep in some of my hand loads). The error was corrected and the gun has performed flawlessly ever since.

Ordered this rifle from Midway and it was dropped shipped from Savage. When it got to my local FFL dealer, they signed for it and I started the paperwork. I picked up the gun 10 days later (thank you California) and brought it home. First time out the gun misfired repeatedly. I disassembled the rifle to reset the accutrigger (as labeled on the side of the rifle and listed in the ads) only to find it was a Eabco trigger. I researched it and they quit using them 3-4 years ago. Decided to research further and the box was labeled as a “semi automatic” (it’s a bolt action) and only a 22 inch barrel instead of the 24 inch in the listing.
Don’t get me wrong, first time out (once the trigger was adjusted properly), the rifle shot 1/2 MOA groups (with out of the box stock Federal 55 grain) so I’m not totally disgusted, just felt that Savage was “clearing out old stock” and labeling it as new (and pricing it as new). I have 2 other Savage rifles and I love them so I stayed with the brand but I am very disappointed…
