Had issues with this gun before I even went to shoot it. It came with 2 mags and I bought 4 more (two 2-packs) direct from Ruger. One of those mags (don’t know if it was one that came with the gun or one of the extras I bought) was VERY gritty and hard to load. And even before trying to shoot it I could tell that one would never work. So I never even tried it. I had a time even unloading it it was sticking so badly. So I contacted Ruger and sent that defective one back (at my expense) for a replacement. Time will tell how that goes. I took the gun and the remaining 5 mags out to shoot today and had nothing but trouble from every mag. Had a lot of jams and failures to feed with all 5 mags. Don’t know if it is the mags or the gun but performance was horrible. It is the worst 22 pistol I have and I regret buying it. I’m hoping it gets better with time. We’ll see. I have a Browning Buckmark Field Target and a Taurus TX22 and never had any such issues with them shooting hte same ammo. If this was…

I’m upgrading my previous one star review on this which was based on the fact that out of 6 different mags in it (all Ruger mags) it jammed/misfeed very other round. When I got some more time I took it out again and on a hunch tried reseating the barrel on the reciever and giving it another go. This time not one misfeed in 6 mags and using subsonic ammo shooting through a dead ait suppressor at that. So I presume it just was not seated well on my first outing. And Ruger did send me a replacement for the really rough mag I sent back to them in a reasonably timely manner albeit at my expense. Is it on par with my Buckmark in terms of quality now ? Not quite. But it is a decent second place. And for value the TX22 beats them both. I still put the Buckmark a notch or two above this Ruger for build quality AND quality of the mags. After all one mag was super rough inside and out to the point of being non-functinal. And none of the Ruger mags had a great finish with all having rough sharp edges. None …
