Nice gun and fun to shoot with factory ammo, but experienced some ‘light primer strikes” using reloaded ammo. Not sure why yet, the reloaded ammo feeds flawlessly through my AR. Sent the gun back to Ruger to test and inspect it. Not sure what they found yet. I liked the idea of using the same ammo and magazines as my AR and put a quality scope on it.

I thoroughly enjoy the weight and pointability of this 16″ barreled Ruger in 300 BLK. However, not only was the action very rough from the onset, but one could not cycle the action over an empty magazine due to the mag keeper physically blocking the bolt! (Note – I love P-mags in my AR platforms, but the Ruger factory issued 5.56 cal P-mag delivered with this .300 BLK Ruger rifle was the cause of the “rough action!) … I purchased and installed an after-market, METAL, 10 round, 300 BLK (7.62x 39) “ASC brand” magazine and this solved both problems. The bolt cycled noticeably smoother with the ASC magazine, plus i could now easily close the bolt over an empty mag. The difference this magazine swap made with the rifle’s functionality is amazing. This was an inexpensive fix and saved me from selling my newly acquired Ruger.
