This handy tool allows a gunsmith fitting a barrel to a Remington 700-type action to quickly ream the bolt head recess to a nominal size. The pilots allow indicating within the bore of several caliber barrels. Otherwise, to do this, one needs to set up an inside reaming operation on the lathe. That is not hard, but it takes some time.
