For years I relied on 45 ACP firearms. Last year I switched over to a Colt Delta Elite. Of course the same size but more power. Shooting with Blazer 200 grain practice ammo I found the gun as controllable as hot 45 loads and as accurate as my 4 45 ACP pistols. The one problem I encountered was that the trigger would wear my trigger finger raw after a box of 50. Now that is not an issue for self defense as I don’t anticipate such a prolonged shoot out. These modern Colt 1911 design weapons are well made and as accurate as match target pistols of decades past. I have not had to use my 10 MM for self defense, (thank God) but I will bet my life on it every day.
