  1. Harry

This ammo was purchased for the express use of being loaded into a 6″ revolver when hiking in the San Juan National Forest. It provide nearly the maximum energy available for the 44 Mag, with the added benefit of a semi-jacketed soft-point which I feel is particularily effective against black bear. Mountain lions are also a local feature.

  2. William

.44 Rem Mag is a popular cartridge for rifles as well as for pistols. A great many .44 Mag rifles are level actions. If Buffalo Bore is going to sell .44 Mag ammo that they know will not work in rifles (such as this “Heavy 44 Mag”, Item B, 300 gr JFN), then they should make it clear that the ammo is NOT intended for use in lever rifles and WILL NOT function in lever rifles BEFORE the consumer has to find out the hard way. Other than that, it goes “bang” when you shoot it (in a revolver, ONLY).
